Ungmennafélag Grindavíkur received a truly wonderful gift today when the representatives of Einhamar Seafood brought the association a 22- person Mercedes Benz bus.
The bus will benefit the whole club well in competition trips organized by the club. The bus has been owned by Einhamar for several years and was to be replaced and sold. Instead, Einhamar’s management decided to repair it and give it to the Youth Association where it could be put to good use.
The bus was formally handed over today and it was Rakel Lind Hrafnsdóttir, from the basketball division and Gunnar Már Gunnarsson, from the football division, who accepted the bus from Sandra Antonsdóttir, one of the owners of Einhamar. “We thank Einhamar Seafood for its incredible warmth towards the association. It has long been the associations dream to acquire such a bus.
The bus will be available to all the associations departments and should reduce the company’s travel costs significantly in the future,” says Bjarni Már Svavarsson, chairman of UMFG. “The main board of Ungmennafélag Grindavíkur, would like to thank Einhamar Seafood for this incredible gift which we sincerely hope will benefit many young Grindvík people in the years to come”.
